Our recycling policy

As a small business we do what we can to help the environment by being as environmentally responsible as possible.
Here are some of the ways which we help to do this.

When you have a delivery from us we ask that you save the box so that we can collect it from you for reuse the next time we deliver to you.  Likewise some of our suppliers have the same arrangement with us – we save their boxes and return them when empty when they redeliver to us.

We use as little diesel as possible by delivering to certain areas on set days, thereby visiting as many customers as possible using the least amount of fuel.



Any cardboard from deliveries that is not reusable is taken to be recycled, any office waste paper, plastic or glass is all recycled

Any waste fruit and veg is not thrown away but put into composters, that is apart from carrots not up to quality for our veg boxes but gratefully received by horses or a local rescue centre for rabbits. 

We refill our ink cartridges for our printers, which at the end of their life are then also recycled.  

We use paper carrier bags in our shop which we charge 10p for as a way of encouraging customers to reuse….which we are pleased to say they do!

We have produced our own eco friendly shopping bags as an alternative to the paper bags which with a choice of 3 different sizes are also proving popular

We offer the Ecover refill service – this encourages customers to bring back their empty plastic bottles for refilling – washing up liquid, laundry liquid, fabric softener, hand soap, shower gel, multisurface cleaner, toilet cleaner, a great idea which not only saves you money but reuses plastic bottles that may otherwise end up in land fill sites.
